IF YOU HAVE CONTROLLED YOUR WEIGHT

AND STILL YOUR BODY LOOKS

 DISPROPORTIONATELY HEAVY IN CERTAIN AREAS

YOU MAY BE A CANDIDATE FOR ------

LIPOSUCTION

Liposuction is a very common and popular elective cosmetic surgery procedure to remove isolated areas of unsightly and  undesirable subcutaneous fat, that do not respond to diet and exercise.

  • It is not a treatment of obesity; However, it definitely improves your appearance by reducing your body fat volume and size in selected areas.

  • Through tiny incisions a narrow tube  or cannula is inserted and used to vaccum the fat layer that lies beneath the skin. High frequency vibrations of the cannula dissolve the fat and a high performance vaccum pump sucks this fat out.djfa

Are you a candidate for liposuction?

  1. Ideal candidates for liposuction are normal weight to moderately obese, relatively young persons with firm, elastic and good skin tone, who have pockets of excess fat in certain areas.

  2. Prospective candidates should be physically healthy, psychologically stable and realistic in their expectations. Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery operation and not just a visit to the beautician.

  3. Liposuction carries greater risk for individuals with medical problems such as diabetes, significant heart or lung disease, poor blood circulation, or those who have recently had surgery near the area to be contoured.

  • Anesthesia: Liposuction can be done under Local anesthesia with I/V Sedation, Regional Anesthesia or General Anesthesia depending on patient’s preferences and volume of liposuction, in a single session or multiple sessions.

  • Duration of Surgery: Time required for liposuction may vary considerably depending on the size of area, the amount of fat being removed, the type of anesthesia and the technique being used.

  • Recovery: After your surgery you will most likely experience some fluid drainage from the incisions, some discomfort, swelling and temporary numbness and will be required to wear an elastic compression garment for a few weeks. Antibiotics and pain killers for a few days will be prescribed.

  • Follow up visits may be required to monitor your progress and to see if any additional procedures are required.

  • Results: Usually there is quite a noticeable difference in the shape of your body within a few days after surgery, however final results may take up to three months.

  • No type of liposuction is a substitute for dieting, slimming or exercise.

  • Liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that don’t respond to traditional weight loss methods.

  • Areas suitable for liposuction:

1.      Neck (Double Chin)

2.      Chest (Gynaecomastia)

3.      Abdomen front

4.      Abdomen sides and back

5.      Hips

6.      Thighs

7.      Arms and shoulders
